A time-warp car.

Chassis number 16RM has emerged from having been stored for 33 years.

The car is to be serviced & recommissioned by Priory Vintage, the noted Ghost specialists, before sale.

Mechanically the car is spot on. The engine appears to have had a substantial rebuild shortly before being laid up. Thus it runs in silence & starts readily from cold, & off the retard lever almost every time when warm, attesting to the excellent compression. The car has the feel that it could be started any day & driven direct to Istanbul without a worry in the world. She runs equally well off either magneto or coil.

The body is a doctor's coupe by Park Ward, with dickey seat to the rear. It has pleasing body lines & is almost dainty from some angles. The paintwork is scruffy as are the interior fittings, as a result of being laid up for so long. The canvas hood still goes up & down perfectly, but the fabric is near the end of its useful life. The leather seats are perfectly serviceable but show some wear. The odometer is showing 6,000 miles. (106 we assume).

A car such as this could be run absolutely as is, causing shock & raised eyebrows at any RR gathering attended, or could equally well be made into a stunning concours car with a high quality repaint & re-trim. It is rare to find a car in such original condition nowadays that has not been "done".
