This is a very early car. One of the first Phantom 1s produced. It is really just a Ghost with a slightly more modern engine.

Chassis number 7SC

The car comes to us in impeccable mechanical condition. The engine was rebuilt prior to the sale of the car 7 years ago, by marque specialists P & A Wood who sold the car previously. Thus it starts off the button & runs with the kind of turbine-like uncanny smoothness for which Rolls Royce are justly famous. The oil pressure is superb even at idle when hot.

The coach work is by Hooper, often described as "The King of Coach Builders." Looking at the body & quality of construction one may see why such a sobriquet is justly deserved. The body is a Salamanca; a configuration that gives the owner the best of all worlds. Fully enclosed motoring, sedanca configuration or fully open convertible mode. Raising & lowering the hood is a simple task taking just a few minutes & is an object lesson in coach builders' ingenuity. The central bulkhead is also fitted with a division in good working order.

The car is in amazingly original condition with original heavily patinated leather to the front & rear. The car unusually was specified with leather to the rear. The Hooper patent signal window on the drivers door is present & in perfect working order. The coachwork is finished in a deep green over black.

The body has numerous lovely detail touches such as the delicate tear drop tapers to the tips of the rear wings & deeply recessed cutaways to the front wings. The interior woodwork is of rosewood veneer & again all intact. To the rear is a period luggage box with three fitted suitcases to the interior. The car is a true 7 seater with two occasional seats folding out from the bulkhead. Outside twin side mounted spares complete the ensemble making for an imposing looking car.

These Hooper Salamancas are very rare & only occasionally come to market. Thus this represents a rare opportunity that does not often arise to acquire a car in very, very original unmolested condition.

The car drives beautifully & is a pleasure to behold.
