1929 Rolls Royce 20hp Weymann Saloon

Chassis number GEN45
Engine Number H2W
Registration number UU4905

A very late 20hp car with a Weymann fabric covered body by James Young of Bromley, Kent. This car is in very very original condition with a charming patina. Supplied to the current owner by Messrs P & A Wood, it was also maintained by them for many years.

The car comes with a detailed log book documenting everything ever done to it from 1949 to the present day, covering the mileage of 97,000 through to its present mileage of 227,079. It makes for fascinating reading. The car has clearly been maintained with no expense spared & had a full engine rebuild by Ristes Motor Company at 199,985 indicated mileage.

Coachwork is an extremely light Weymann body by James Young, all in good order with the exception of a small tear to the back right hand side. The interior is green patinated leather with green carpets.

The car comes with its original handbook, in well thumbed through condition. There is also an assortment of correspondence & paperwork. Pleasingly the entire tool kit is located under the driver's seat & is intact.

The car is mechanically excellent, attesting to the "No expense spared" maintenance regime. The engine bay is tidy & boasts a boa constrictor bulb type horn with a particularly large trumpet end. A klaxon is also fitted. A spare Shell fuel can sits on the driver's running board.

This is a beautiful time warp car that should be left as is & enjoyed in its present condition, in which it will give many more years of faithful service. The light fabric body is exactly as Henry intended, & suits the chassis perfectly. The car is residing on the Isle of Wight & may be viewed there by appointment.
