1930 Rolls Royce 20/25 Barker Doctors Coupé.
Chassis number GLR25
Registration number GH2959
A very rare & early 20/25 with doctors coupé body by Barker.
This car has been under the current family ownership for the last 30 years or so. During that time it has been sparingly used & fastidiously maintained. Extensive work has been undertaken by noted engine builders & marque specialists A & S Engineering of Alton Hants. Indeed the last bill was for £7,600.
The car has had a complete rewire in correct cotton covered wire stock. Under the bonnet the car is well detailed & the engine in beautiful silent running order. It starts easily & will start "off the switch " when warm indicating excellent compressions. A Bosch trumpet horn is fitted under the bonnet backed up by a boa constrictor type bulb horn.
The coachwork is finished in a burgundy paint scheme. Having been done some 30 years ago it is not absolutely perfect but is very very tidy presenting well & having acquired a pleasant patina over the years. Likewise the white leather interior leather is in good condition. Unusually the car has a couple of occasional seats behind the front seats allowing the car to carry no less then 6 people. The dickey seat has been little used so its leather is superb. The boot is Mohair having been recently fitted & is in commensurate condition.
Being an early car the Radiator shutters are manually controlled & the the gearbox is non synchro on all gears. The car drives beautifully & the gear change is easily mastered; Much lighter then a phantom for example.
The running board has a tool box containing the large tools & also a single spare side mount to the drivers side. The car comes with a good quantity of paperwork & bills from over the years.
The car may be viewed by appointment near Petersfield.
