1934 H.J. Mulliner 20/25 Sedanca

Chassis Number GHA37
Engine Number Q5Z
Original Registration ALX5 Included.

A car in immaculate condition & hard to fault.

This car was acquired by the current owner in the last century. Prior to that it had been in a collection & had been dry stored for close to 40 years.

When acquired, a thorough re-commissioning was undertaken including a respray & massive mechanical works such as new big end shells & bearings, in order to put the car in first class order. The Crank showed no wear whatsoever so was not touched. When acquired the car had an odometer reading of 28,000 miles. Since then the car has done about 2000 miles per year & the mileage is now 44,800. Judging from the lack of wear in the linkages & the tightness of the steering we believe this is possibly original & correct but are unable to further substantiate it.

The car is in simply impeccable order. The interior is chocolate leather to the front & rear with mid brown carpets. The headlining was completely re-done so is perfect. Vanity alcoves with lit mirrors sit to either side of the rear seats. A sliding division separates the rear passenger from James. The woodwork is all root stock burr walnut & highly figured as one would expect and in very good condition.

The paintwork is cream over black, & again is immaculate. Twin side mounts adorn the running boards & a period motoring trunk is mounted to the rear. All bright work is also first class.

The best part about this car is under the bonnet. The car starts at a moments notice & is whisper quiet. She drives down the road in complete silence & pulls smoothly in top from walking pace. The gear box is crisp & silent, also making for pleasant changes. The dynamo has recently been rewound. She runs equally well on either Magneto or coil. Attention has also been given to the one shot lubrication to ensure it is perfect functioning condition. The radiator was re-cored & results in a very cool running engine at around 60 degrees. Oil Pressure is a superb 35PSI when hot & running, dropping to 28 when at idle.

The car is featured as a side on plate in the authoritative volume "Those Elegant Rolls-Royce" by Lawrence Dalton. A copy of the said book goes with the car as does a handbook & service book.

The car was originally supplied via Car Mart on Park Lane to one L. P. Hose Esquire of St Georges Hill, Weybridge for a chassis price of £903, eight shillings & five pence.

The car is located near Oxford & may be viewed there by prior appointment. Viewing & a test drive is strongly encouraged. It is only when you drive & hear this car that you appreciate just how good she is.
