1937 Rolls Royce 25/30 Ripon Limousine
Chassis number GRO73
Registration number ACX718
A beautiful car that combines perfect exterior aesthetics to an utterly original interior, whilst at the same time the mechanics have been rebuilt.
The exterior paint is flawless in cream & black. The car is a light cream, but the pictures make it appear more yellow then it really is, due to being shot under artificial light. The paint was done to an extremely high quality as the car sat in the museum section of the owner's substantial business. Consequently it has seen little but sparing use squiring occasional dignitaries to & from the airport.
The car is clothed by noted northern coach builders; Ripon. It is a limousine with division but has more then a hint of sports saloon about it. Quite rakish & low slung. The car is unusual in that it boasts twin opening sun roofs for both front & rear passengers. Indeed it would appear to be a car designed to be owner driven as well as chauffeur driven.
The interior is original blue leather to the front & rear seats. It is in good order with some of the expected patination that comes only from age. The woodwork is all excellent being of quarter sawn book matched fiddle-back Honduras mahogany. An interesting feature is the glass topped pull out map holder that slides from under the dash. Even more unusual is the bench style picnic table that folds out in one piece making for a really useful working surface unlike any I have seen before. Twin drawers slide out from under drivers & passengers seats with a good selection of original small tools present. An electrically operated blind affords privacy from the rear window.
To the rear is a fold out luggage platform. A Brexon motoring trunk is supplied with the car for touring. Additionally the cars original fitted suitcases are located in the boot behind the luggage blind.
The car was sparingly used for many many years by the castle dwelling northern nobility who were its second owners. Likewise in latter years it has covered but few miles. It comes with a copious set of bills & all the assorted manuals & technical documents one might hope for.
The engine starts readily & runs quietly with excellent oil pressure. The bills include a new head & numerous other works by specialists such as Fiennes engineering.
The car is residing in the Lake District & may be viewed & driven there on site by appointment.
