1938 Phantom III Windovers Limousine.
Chassis number 3-CM-149
Registration number APN757
A beautiful P III limousine by noted coach builders Windovers. The chassis was built in December of '37 & body completed by Windovers in '38. The car is reputed to have spent the war years in service in the Royal Mews.
The body is a six light limousine with division & is a tall imposing design. The exterior paint is in good condition with very few minor blemishes. The paint is in a subtle two tone design of deep burgundy over medium burgundy. A single side mount spare is fitted along with twin trumpet horns. The rear has provision for the mounting of a motoring trunk.
The interior is west of England cloth to the rear in good condition including the twin occasional seats. The front seats are black leather in serviceable condition but would benefit from a hide food treatment & re-dye. The rear is fitted with beautiful silver brushes & perfume bottles along with a silver salver for the chauffeur to present ones calling card upon. Inside the the cabinet underneath contains twin silver chalices. Twin flower vases are mounted to the B pillars.
In recent years the car has been used for wedding work covering a scant 1000 or so miles per year whilst being correctly serviced by a Rolls Royce specialist. Prior to the current ownership the car had a complete & full engine rebuild & as a consequence is running beautifully. Oil pressure is a healthy 30 PSI & water runs cool around 70 degrees. The car drives extremely well with a taut feeling & instant response from the engine. An original service manual comes with the car. A flag standard is mounted to the front bumper.
The car is booked with wedding commitments until August 28th after which it is available for collection. The car is located just north of Liverpool & may be viewed there by appointment.
