1939 Rolls Royce 25/30 Park Ward swept back.
Chassis number GGR71
Registration number AJN797
Under the current ownership for close to 30 years! GGR71 was off test in 1938 & first registered in 1939. The car comes to us with a large history file including meticulous details of service work performed by Rolls Royce including incremental mileages. The car has now covered 173,346 miles warranted by the assorted bills & paperwork. It has a full set of MOT's stretching back to 1961.
This is a largely original car in good tidy condition; very useable, with some age related patination to the paint & interior. Originally an all black car the car is now finished in a pleasing two tone arrangement of black over a pale grey. A single side mount spare tyre is fitted & a new tyre in wrappings also comes with the car along with assorted spares accumulated over the years.
The interior is the original green leather which was re-dyed at the Rolls Royce service centre by Connolly in the "60's. Carpets & head-lining have been replaced as they had got to the stage where they simply needed to be done. All walnut veneers are original & in fine condition. Picnic tables are fitted to the rear seat backs. The division is somewhat unusual in that it slides out from a recess in the roof where it is stored when not in use.
The car has a large sunroof for airy summer motoring. It was recently dis-assembled. New plastic water drain pipes were fitted & timber work renewed as required. The tool drawer under the drivers seat has a decent complement of tools & spares in place. Large tools are all in their appointed places under the bonnet. The engine bay is tidy & functional with a good original appearance. The original inspection lamp also comes with the car.
The car drives beautifully with taut play free steering as a result of the king pins having been replaced. The engine starts instantly & runs in silence. The one shot system is all connected & fully functional.
Whilst not being brand new, this is a car that will appeal to those who appreciate originality & want a car that has not been "got at" or altered. It comes to us with excellent provenance & may be viewed by prior appointment in the West Midlands. The owner is in no hurry to sell & is not prepared to entertain offers much less then the asking price.
