1939 Rolls Royce Wraith Park Ward Limousine.
Chassis number WXA83
Registration number FXF966
One of just 492 Wraiths produced before the war. This example went to Park Ward to be fitted with the limousine body we see upon it today.
The car is finished in a light burgundy over black & presents very, very well with paint being in overall good order. The car is fitted with a rear mounted Brexton motoring trunk, a side mounted spare, & Ace discs to all wheels. The imposing front boasts twin Lucas P100 lamps, a single centre mounted spot & twin trumpet horns, along with the usual de rigueur badges. The windscreen opens forwards giving a refreshing breeze for summer motoring.
To the interior is correct original black leather to the front, & beige cloth to the rear, including the twin occasional seats. Of particular splendour on this car is the stunning woodwork of highly figured burr root stock walnut. It seemingly covers every available surface & is in superb condition making the interior a very pleasant place to be.
The engine bay is tidily detailed & presents well with large tools in place, including the elusive inspection lamp. The one shot bijur lubrication system is working well with all shackles both fore & aft being wet with oil. The engine starts readily & runs in silence. The gear box is smooth with good syncromesh to all gears making for simple, smooth changes. On the road the car drives beautifully, wafting one down the road in silence, & easily running with modern traffic.
The car is just down the road from us in Aylesbury & may be viewed there by prior appointment.
